Ever since Dennis Hernandez was young, he has been on a fast track to success. By the time he was 20 years old, he had already graduated from Duke University with a bachelor’s degree in economics.
He then turned his attention to studying law where, again, he excelled in his studies. He was eighth (out of 260 students) in his class at Florida State University College of Law, where he earned his J.D.
Then, Harvard University accepted Mr. Hernandez into its prestigious LL.M. (Master of Laws) program for law school graduates. This graduate program is highly competitive. In a recent year, Harvard accepted only 180 students out of the 1,600 who applied. When Hernandez received his Harvard graduate degree, he was still only 24 years old, with his whole career ahead of him.
A Law Firm is Born in Tampa
After Hernandez received his Master of Laws degree from Harvard, he practiced law for four years at a law firm until he had the experience needed to establish his own firm. When he was twenty-eight years old, he then returned to his Tampa roots and opened his first law office on Kennedy Boulevard near Hyde Park. The Dennis Hernandez law firm was dedicated to helping Tampa accident victims achieve justice.
Throughout the next 20 years, the Dennis Hernandez law firm has expanded from its roots in Tampa to have offices in seven other locations around the state. Some things never change, though. While the other locations, provide the same excellent legal services the Dennis Hernandez law firm is known for, the Kennedy Boulevard office in Tampa is still the main office for the law firm.

Dennis Hernandez Tampa Attorney Gives Back to the Community
In addition to protecting the legal rights of accident victims in Tampa and throughout Florida, Mr. Hernandez and his firm seek opportunities to give back to the community in a variety of ways. For example:
- The Dennis Hernandez law firm joined with Metropolitan Ministries to run a virtual toy drive that brought smiles to the faces of hundreds of children in the Tampa Bay community.
- Dennis loves dogs, so he was especially pleased to have the chance to support the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando’s Paws in the Park event, along with the Dennis Hernandez Orlando team. Dogs and humans had a great time with a pet costume contest, a doggie fun zone, and (for the humans!) a beer garden. These activities raised $110,000, which the Pet Alliance is using to take care of 5,200 dogs and cats until they can find their forever homes.
- In his firm’s main office in Tampa, Hernandez held an auction of art created by children aged 4 to 17 as part of an event that raised a total of more than $350,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Tampa Attorney Dennis Hernandez Broadens His Perspective with Global Travel
Hernandez loves to travel almost as much as he loves fighting for justice. He has recently had the good fortune to be able to visit many places around the world and experience diverse cultures first-hand.
In Egypt, Dennis had a jam-packed week of adventure, seeing the Sphinx, taking in the pyramids of Giza, riding a camel, cruising on the Nile, visiting the West Bank and sailing to Edfu and Aswan.
In Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Dennis was awed by the 125-foot statue “Christ the Redeemer,” one of the Seven Wonders of the World. He ate amazing food and visited iconic cultural institutions. But what made the biggest impression on him was visiting the Rocinha Favela, the largest slum in Brazil. There, away from the usual tourist destinations seen through rose-colored glasses, Dennis had the chance to connect with the local Rio community and experience its culture first-hand. People in the community welcomed him and took him up to see the “Gates of Heaven” on top of a cliff overlooking the city – one of the most breathtaking places Dennis has ever been.
In Peru, Dennis explored towns and villages high in Peru’s magnificent mountains, enjoying the unique and stunning landscapes of Peru and the vibrant communities and their music. He capped off the trip with a visit to Machu Picchu, the ancient site of the Incas.
