Diagnosed Tampa blood cancer kids create art for LLS
TAMPA, FL (WFLA) –Tampa Bay children created works of art for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to raise funds toward the society’s overall goal of a world without blood cancers.
On Sunday, LLS hosted the group of kids including the 2013 Boy and Girl of the Year, the 2014 Boy and Girl of the Year and the 2014 Tampa Light the Night Honored Hero at a special art class. LLS’s Honored Heroes are kids who have been diagnosed with a blood cancer and are currently in treatment or remission.
The children, ranging in ages from 4 to 17, could choose between two uplifting art pieces. They were directed step by step by Pinot’s Palette artists who donated their time to help the children create these one of a kind pieces.
The art pieces will now be featured, along with other local artists, at the Attorney Dennis Hernandez Charity Art Auction on Friday, March 29th with all proceeds going to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
